A new Quinnipiac University Poll shows the following:

  • 85% of registered voters think it's a bad idea to sign a pledge to an anti-tax group opposing taxes on corporations or the wealthy under any circumstance.
  • 77% of Republicans think the same way.
  • 65% of registered voters support higher taxes for those who earn more than $250,000 a year.
  • 67% oppose eliminating the home mortgage deduction

We urge Republican Senators and Congressmen not to be swayed by this -- you were elected to save the economy, and not to follow the whims of the electorate. This is what survey respondents think today... but next year, after you've successfully fought off attempts to raise the top marginal tax rate, and the economy begins improving again, your constituents will thank you.
